Welcome to the Official Site of the Village of Sugarcreek. Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscarawas County, our Ohio town is proud to trace its heritage back to our numerous Swiss and German settlers. Hence, we’ve been known not only as a part of Ohio’s Amish Country, but also as the “Little Switzerland of Ohio.”
Today our village provides services to more than 4,000 Sugarcreek and area residents via the Sugarcreek Fire, Police, Water, Waste Water, and Street Departments. We also count on the Swiss Valley Joint Ambulance Service to help those in need.
Our Village offices are staffed with a full-time Administrator, Fiscal Officer and Utilities Clerk. Our village matters are handled by way of an elected six-member council that normally meets the first and third Monday of each month.
Garaway Local Schools, our local public school district, consistently ranks as one of the best in the state and some of our businesses have grown to be known nationally, you can find a complete list of local businesses by following the link to the Sugarcreek Business Association at the top of this page.
We’re proud of our heritage and the sense of community that has developed here. I hope you’ll take a little time to explore our Web sites and find something that interests you. If you don’t live here already, consider moving here and becoming a part of something great.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions at 330.852.4112.
Just in case you missed the news the Kimble co. has placed a recycling bin next to the Village Hall at 410 S. Broadway. This bin is for residents of Sugarcreek and Sugarcreek Township. The material collected counts toward the annual Recycling Totals for Sugarcreek, which determine the amount of rebate the Village receives annually. If you have more recyclable material than your tote can handle you can simply drop it off in the bin next to Village Hall. Please refer to the acceptable recyclable material list located on our Documents page under Refuse and Recycling.
