Welcome to Sugarcreek!
Welcome to the Official Site of the Village of Sugarcreek. Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscarawas County, our Ohio town is proud to trace its heritage back to our numerous Swiss and German settlers. Hence, we’ve been known not only as a part of Ohio’s Amish Country, but also as the “Little Switzerland of Ohio.”
Today our village provides services to more than 4,000 Sugarcreek and area residents via the Sugarcreek Fire, Police, Village Water & Sewer and Street departments. We also count on the Swiss Valley Joint Ambulance Service to help those in need.
Our village offices are staffed with a full-time administrator, clerk and deputy clerk. Our village matters are handled by way of an elected six-member council that normally meets the first and third Monday of each month.
Garaway Local Schools, our local public school district, consistently ranks as one of the top in the state and some of our businesses have grown to be known nationally, like Belden Brick, which was featured on John Ratzenberger’s Made-in America television program.
We’re proud of our heritage and the sense of community that has developed here. I hope you’ll take a little time to explore our Web sites and find something that interests you. If you don’t live here already, consider moving here and becoming a part of something great.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions at 330.852.4112.
Sincerely,
Mayor Clayton Weller
