Ohio Swiss Festival Queen- 2011 queen is Kathryn Eckert, 18, daughter of Tim and Heather Eckert. The co-attendants are Betsey Sigrist, 15, daughter of Billie Jo Sigrist and Tim Sigrist and Yvonne Bitikofer, 17, daughter of Derrek Bitikofer.
Grand Champion Cheese Maker: Richard and Anne Guggisberg of Guggisberg Cheese of Charm, Ohio. Reserve Champion Cheese Maker is Chuck Ellis of Pearl Valley Cheese of Fresno, Ohio.
Cheese Auction Results: The Grand Champion 49.47# block of Guggisberg Cheese was purchased by WalnutCreek Foods of WalnutCreek, Ohio for $55.00 lb for $2720.85. The 25.46# block of Guggisberg cheese went to Troyer Cheese Co. of Berlin, Ohio at $45 lb for 1145.70. Randle’s Cheese of Warsaw,Ohio purchased the 52.9# block of Reserve Champion cheese from Pearl Valley Cheese for $35 lb. The auction raised a total of $18,717.35. Thanks to all who participated.

2010 OHIO SWISS FESTIVAL RESULTS:
Grand Champion Cheese Maker —– Chad Schindler and John Fankhauser of Broad Run Cheesehouse, Dover Ohio. Fankhauser is head cheesemaker, Schindler is president and cheesemaker. Nancy Schindler is the owner. Reserve champion is Pearl Valley Cheese at Fresno, Ohio.
Ohio Swiss Festival Queen – Rachel Teague, daughter of Philip and Jayne Teague of Sugarcreek was named 2010 queen. Her court consists of first attendant, Lydia Kneuss, daughter of David and Jennifer Kneuss of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Second attendant is Kathryn Eckert, daughter of Tim and Heather Eckert of Sugarcreek.
2010 Little Swiss Miss- is Liz Yoder, daughter of Myron and Heather Yoder. Her attendants are Helena Immel, daughter of Matt and Vanessa Immel, and Grace Gingerich, daughter of Dennis Gingerich and Raymond and Atlanta Yoder.
Grand Parade - 1st place float – McDonald’s of Sugarcreek; 2nd place float - 2009 National ChampionshipTaekwondo Beau Blizzard; 3rd place float – Bible Walk of Mansfield,Ohio; Best horse drawn vehicle- Jacob’s Classic Carriage of Amish Door Restaurant of Wilmot,Ohio; Best horse- Donna Corrao of Wisp of Pine Stables.

Her court consists of First Attendant Emily Lappin, daughter of Tom and Joan Lappin of New Philadelphia, and Second Attendant Elizabeth Guggisberg, daughter of Richard and Anne Guggisberg of Millersburg.
Ohio Swiss Festival Princess — Taylor Troyer, 13, daughter of Roman and Kelli Troyer of Sugarcreek was named Princess. Troyer’s court consists of First Attendant Kelaiah Kneuss, 11, daughter of David and Jennifer Kneuss of New Philadelphia and Second Attendant Sara Lorenz, 13, daughter of Mike and Wendy Lorenz of Sugarcreek.
Ohio Swiss Miss Court — Hannah Williams, 10, daughter of Ralph and Jennifer Williams of Dover selected the Swiss Miss Rose. Her court, recipients of the orange roses tipped in red, will be Abigail Kneuss, 9, daughter of David and Jennifer Kneuss of New Philadelphia and Emma Warkall, 8, daughter of Mike and Kristina Warkall of Sugarcreek.
Swiss Cheese Chase 5k & Health Walk Results – The 2009 Chase saw nearly 200 participants register, with many coming on race day. This is, we believe, a record for the Swiss Cheese Chase. Organizer Kristin Bond was in her first year and has included a letter to those who participated as well as a PDF with the results for this year’s race. Overall results are atop the document and winners by age group are toward the bottom. Thank you for participating. We look forward to seeing you again next year and hope your run was fun.
