Swiss Festival Event & Competition Winners

This page will feature the winner of the Swiss Festival competitions once they are available.  This year’s Swiss Festival events begin Thursday evening, Oct. 1, and runs through Saturday, Oct. 3.

2009 Ohio Swiss Festival Results

Grand Champion Cheese Maker — Richard Guggisberg, Marvin Raber, Norman Yoder and Steve Ottiger of Guggisberg Cheese Co. at Charm.

Ohio Swiss Festival Queen — Rebecca  Kolb, 17, daughter Anne Myers of Dover, was named 2009 Queen. Her court consists of First Attendant Emily Lappin, daughter of Tom and Joan Lappin of New Philadelphia, and Second Attendant Elizabeth Guggisberg, daughter of Richard and Anne Guggisberg of Millersburg.

Ohio Swiss Festival Princess — Taylor Troyer, 13, daughter of Roman and Kelli Troyer of Sugarcreek was named Princess. Troyer’s court consists of First Attendant Kelaiah Kneuss, 11, daughter of David and Jennifer Kneuss of New Philadelphia and Second Attendant Sara Lorenz, 13, daughter of Mike and Wendy Lorenz of Sugarcreek.

Ohio Swiss Miss Court — Hannah Williams, 10, daughter of Ralph and Jennifer Williams of Dover selected the Swiss Miss Rose. Her court, recipients of the orange roses tipped in red, will be Abigail Kneuss, 9, daughter of David and Jennifer Kneuss of New Philadelphia and Emma Warkall, 8, daughter of Mike and Kristina Warkall of Sugarcreek.

Swiss Cheese Chase 5k & Health  Walk Results –  The 2009 Chase saw nearly 200 participants register, with many coming on  race day. This is, we believe, a record for the Swiss Cheese Chase. Organizer Kristin Bond was in her first year and has included a letter to those who participated as well as a PDF with the results for this year’s race.  Overall results are atop the document and winners   by age group are toward the bottom.
