Wine & Cheese Sample Station
Friday & Saturday at the Fire Station
Sample award-winning wine and cheese from our local artisans throughout the festival. Stop in during the day or before you leave and ask the friendly staff to wrap up your favorites. This is a GREAT way to take home a taste of the festival!
The Grand Parade
Saturday | 2p.m. | Main St. and winding to Maple via Factory St.
Although France is a neighbor to Switzerland, “Le Grande Parade” says it all. This is a Don’t-Miss Event, which features bands, floats, and all the majesty of a parade that deserves the title of being Grand.
The Kiddie Parade
Friday | 2 p.m. | Main St. Route
Children of all ages can participate in this parade. Costumes, pets and creativity are usually a standard and a great reason to come watch.
Musical Entertainment
Grammy Nominated Musicians like Del Sinchak and numerous others from a spectrum, ranging from polka to Americana and traditional Swiss, will be working throughout the weekend on the Main St. and Pavilion Stages to entertain the masses. Come have a dance, sit and listen or pickup some midway food and watch the festivities. There’s lots to see and do.
The Steintossen
Friday – 7:30 p.m. | Saturday | 4:30 and 7:30 | Throw Pit behind the Midway & Fire Station
This event echoes back to the indigenous peoples of the Alps, tracing its roots as far as the 13th century. The Throwing of the Stone, which weighs about 138 lbs., is a two-day event. A hillside provides an amphitheater for spectators. Entrants can sign up at the event. And yes, there is a lighter stone for the ladies event. It only weighs 75 lbs.
Crowning Event
Thursday | 10 p.m. | Midway Pavilion
The Ohio Swiss Festival Queen Contest will take place with the crowning happening Thursday Night 10 p.m.
Ohio Swiss Cheese Chase
Saturday | 8 a.m. | Fun Run
Saturday | 8:30 a.m. | 5K and 10K
Register at 7 a.m. and take part in the Ohio Swiss Festival Cheese Chase.
Yodeling Contest and Swiss Costume Contest
Saturday | 11:30 a.m. | Main St. Stage
Yodel-aay-hee…well, you get the point. Give it shot and have some fun yourself or just show up decked out in Swiss regalia and help cheer on those Yodelers. This is truly fun for all ages!
