Celebrate Sugarcreek
April 24  5:15 p.m.| Sweet Basil |108 E. Main St., Sugarcreek
This event honors the founders of Sugarcreek as well as the men who laid the foundation for Sugarcreek to prosper as The Little Switzerland of Ohio.  For local residents, the awards given each represent a contribution that the recipients have made to foster the growth and improvement of their community.

Dandelion Festival
April 30 & May 1, 2010 Breitenbach Winery | Old Rt. 39 between Sugarcreek & Dover
Friday Noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 7.

This festival provides fun and many activities for the entire family. Dandelion wine is featured along with samplings of many of the award-winning wines for which Breitenbach has come to be known. Cellar tours and live entertainment add to the atmosphere. Vintage Garden Tractor Show & Community Garage Sales

Organized locally, what started out as a hobby for two neighbors has turned into a show and swap meet. There are vintage garden tractors, parts vendors, a dead sled pull, hourly giveaways, a pedal tractor pull for children and more.  This show also features customized garden tractors, lawn equipment, walk behinds, chainsaws and toy tractors.

Fabulous 50’s Fling
June 11 & 12,  2010 | Fire Station Pavilion Area & Swiss Village Corridor.
The Second Weekend in June is always slated to be a weekend to bust out the poodle skirts, roll up your shirt sleeves, grease back your hair and twist the night away at Sugarcreek.  Come enjoy the Friday night cruise in or the all-day vintage car show on Saturday.  The event is rated as one of the top 1950’s-era shows in the state of Ohio.  The music makes the atmosphere and past names have included names like Phil Dirt & the Dozers.  The food – which features affordable, throw-back prices on a high-quality product – continues to please the crowd and has allowed this event to grow year-after-year. Moonlight Madness

Dominic Greco Band

The Dominic Greco Band is a special event in Sugarcreek. The Greco Band has been playing hits from eras gone by since its founding in 1917. Come, sit and enjoy a wonderful evening of music as the Sugarcreek Business Association sponsors this event and it’s free to those who come.  Vendors offer ice cream and other delights on site. Swiss Village Bulk Food 30th Anniversary Celebration
July 30 | Swiss Village Corridor
Celebrating 30 years of serving visitors and the Sugarcreek Community with quality bulk foods, candies, cheeses, meats and other delicacies, this event is slated to feature fireworks, music and signature dishes from local restaurants. Keep your eye out for low prices but keep an eye toward the sky as a Fireworks Display is slated to light up the Sugarcreek skyline at dusk.

Sugarcreek Business Association Auction
August  20, 2010 | Fire Station Pavilion | 110 N. Broadway St.
Amish-made dinner starting at 4:30, silent auction running from 5:15 to 7 and the  grand auction running from 6 to 8.  Bargains can be found here as many of the SBA’s 140 members come together to donate for a good cause.  As a non-for-profit organization, the  SBA puts its proceeds back into putting on programming for visitors and the community, like the Fabulous 50s Fling and bringing Santa Claus to town for breakfast with the young ones.  Items have ranged from car wash and wax at the silent auction to a full-size storage barn or finely crafted furniture.  Stop in to see what you can find.

The Ohio Swiss Festival began in 1953 as a way to help the Ohio Swiss Cheese Association, based in Sugarcreek, to sell its excess cheese and to celebrate the Sugarcreek area’s Swiss Heritage. Today it continues to be celebrated on the fourth weekend after Labor Day. Friday & Saturday provide a full day of entertainment and events.

Fall Foliage Tours
Fall into the beauty that is Ohio’s Amish Country. Tour our picturesque countryside, splashed in color amidst hay bales, corn shocks and forest floras. Christmas in the Village

Ring in the Holidays by coming to the candle lighting ceremony to honor one  of our  local residents who works quietly and does not ask for recognition during the year.  Come take home the taste and feel of Amish Country and get into the Christmas Spirit by signing along or just taking in the music.

Breakfast with Santa

That’s right; Ol’ Saint Nick will make an appearance and enjoy a sit-down breakfast in the fellowship hall along with parents and children to kick off the Christmas season. This is an experience that helps to bring the magic of the holiday  season to life and a place for children and families to instill a holiday tradition and a sense of intimacy when it comes to meeting Santa before he has to start working the mall circuit and making sure that the  elves  up North are filling  their quotas.
